Some of my friends are former lawyers, and Grippando’s books provide great content for our debates. He creates interesting legal and moral conundrums that I would typically dismiss if they came from any other author.
But from what I’ve read, Grippando is a lawyer, and he uses his experiences to write legal thrillers, which gives his stories a lot of credibility. I think I’ve read six or seven books so far. Though, from the looks of this list, I still have quite a bit of reading to do.
But I don’t mind. No matter how many books of his I read, they never lose their charm. Grippando has a way of consistently keeping me on the edge of my seat.
I have read only one of Mr. Grippando’s books so far (“The Pardon”) so have a very limited perspective. Nonetheless, I just couldn’t get into that book. Grippando has talent as an author, but this first book lacked entertainment value for me. It wasn’t so bad as to put it down, but in the end it was just an average story. I liked his character development, so at some point, I’ll try another in his Jack Swyteck series and hope for the best.
Well, I have tried two more of his books and consequently have changed my mind — Grippando is a darn good author. His book “Last to Die” was outstanding (by my standards). Whereas I complained about “The Pardon” lacking entertainment value, “Last to Die” had it in spades. I shall definitely read more of his stuff.
