Jacqui Rose keeps you up. Once her books sink their hooks into you, they won’t let you sleep, not until her characters attain some sort of resolution. I guess it isn’t her fault.
The reviews for her debut novel were mixed. A lot of people praised it. However, I also saw several complaints about the violence and swearing. But I think those criticisms are unreasonable.
The protagonist spends the novel surrounded by gangsters. Those mannerisms make sense. I like Jacqui’s novels because her heroines are so strong. She isn’t afraid to tackle difficult subjects that affect society. Her characters are inspirational.
