A decade or so ago, I couldn’t sleep. So, I went to the living room and watched a film whose title continues to elude me to this very day. The movie started in Rome. But then, the protagonists made their way to Britain, and we learned that the young man at the center of the adventure was none other than Arthur Pendragon.
That twist blew my mind. Fast forward to three months ago. I sat down to read The Skystone by Jack Whyte, a novel that follows Publius Varrus and Caius Britannicus. But the connections to the Arthurian legend are difficult to ignore.
I don’t know what the second novel has in store for me. But I’m excited to continue this adventure. I don’t think the Camulod Chronicles have anything to do with the movie I watched all those years ago. But since I can’t recall the movie’s title, I might as well make do with Whyte’s series.
