Georgia Bockoven was born on August 7th, 1943 and is currently 82 years old.

Georgia Bockoven has had a successful career as a photojournalist prior to transitioning to fiction writing. Since her debut novel in 1983, Bockoven has won awards and sold over four million books worldwide. One of her romance novels, A Marriage of Convenience, was adapted into a CBS movie in October 1998. Bockoven is married to John Bockoven and live in Northern California. When her husband retired from the fire department, Georgia took a break from writing to spend more time with him. They started a nature photography business which combines creativity and challenge in a new adventure.

The Beach House: Coming Home primarily focuses on Melinda, but it also gives readers insights into Jeremy and Shiloh. Jeremy adopted Melinda’s daughter years ago, and now she wants to meet her birth mother.

While the "beach" setting is more symbolic than central, the story’s heart lies in the connections between its characters. The second Beach House series Another Summer is a character-driven story with a dual timeline that switches between Melinda’s present and her childhood. The characters are well-developed, and the themes of family, friendship, and adoption are thoughtfully explored. While the prologue introduces the beach house, it doesn’t feel like a central part of the story. Instead, the mining town where Melinda grew up plays a bigger role in shaping her background, fears, and motivations. The dual timeline helps the reader understand her struggles and past relationships.

Most of the story focuses on the tension between Melinda and Jeremy. Jeremy is protective of Shiloh and resentful toward Melinda for giving up her baby. His feelings are influenced by his own wife leaving him and Shiloh. While his concerns are understandable, his lack of compassion toward Melinda’s challenges as a teen mom with no support makes him harder to like.
