Duff Goldman (Jeffrey Adam Goldman) was born in Detroit, MI, USA. Goldman attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian History. He also attended Corcoran College of Art and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone.

Duff Goldman is a television personality, entrepreneur, artist, and chef known for his larger-than-life and inventive approach to baking.

He was just four years old when his mother found him in the kitchen. He was watching Chef Tell on the TV while swinging a meat cleaver. Finding inspiration from his great-grandmother, who used to bake in Ukraine, his passion for baking would soon turn into a career.

Duff Goldman would then work with several acclaimed chefs in the United States, such as Todd English’s Olives, Vail at the Cascade Hotel, and Stephen Durfee at the French Laundry.

In the year 2000, he opened Charm City Cakes bakery, which became very popular for its elaborate, creative, and sometimes whimsical cakes. It garnered a lot of attention for the desserts and also for the architects, sculptors, and artists that he hired to make the intricate edible designs.

Duff Goldman expanded the Charm City Cakes brand with locations in Los Angeles and Baltimore. He also founded a DIY cake decorating studio known as Duff’s Cakemix, intended to empower clientele interested in becoming cake artists.

Goldman first got on TV when he hosted Ace of Cakes, the popular Food Network show that showcased the energy and creativity of his bakery as it aired for ten seasons. He has since hosted many other programs, such as Buddy vs. Duff, Kids Baking Championships, and Sugar High, among others.

Outside of baking, Duff Goldman is an artist, sculptor, and musician who plays bass guitar for Soihadto the rock band.

In 2009, he published the work Ace of Cakes, in which he celebrates his journey toward becoming a world-renowned pastry chef and the life and times of the people who made Charm City Cakes possible.

He goes back in time to tell the stories of his young adult life, where he started as a graffiti artist, his many mishaps, and thereafter the inventive creations.

Duff Goldman provides a look into the behind-the-scenes happenings at the bakery, the cake techniques at Charm City Cakes, the amazing customer requests, and his time at the Food Network, where he had a very popular show.

He also throws in dozens of pictures to showcase more than half a dozen years' worth of imaginative and breathtaking cakes.

Pulling together more than 130 recipes, Duff Goldman published Duff Bakes in 2015, in which he gives home bakers a guide on how to make delicious treats just like he does.

It comes with recipes for everything from gluten-free desserts, muffins, cakes, cookies, pies, brownies, and bread. He explains the science behind baking delicious cakes, as he helps his readers get a better understanding of pastry, batter, and dough.

From inventive creations to classic favorites, he guides both experienced bakers and novices to master home baking as an art form.

In 2022, Duff Goldman published a cookbook titled Super Good Cookies for Kids, which is a guide on how to make delicious cookies.

The work covers everything from Danish stroopwafels to coconut macarons and rainbow checkerboard cookies. Kids will learn how to make munchy, gooey, crunchy, and chewy treats such as rainbow meringues and chocolaty s’mores.

He also throws inside bars with travel tidbits, quirky facts about cookies, and kitchen tips to inspire children to find joy, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen.
