David Berlinski

David Berlinski was born in 1942 and is currently 83 years old. David Berlinski was born in New York City, New York, USA. Berlinski attended Columbia University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Princeton University where he received a Ph.D degree in philosophy.

David Berlinski is famous as a mathematician and philosopher who has become known for his work in skepticism and science. He has written books about the history of science and mathematics in addition to several fiction works.

A child of Jewish immigrants to the United States from Germany, David Berlinski was brought up in a very artistic family. His mother was Sina Berlinski, a voice coach and pianist, while his father was Herman Berlinski, a composer.

After his schooling, he got a job at Columbia University’s Department of Biology where he worked as a research assistant. He would then become a teacher of English, Mathematics, and Philosophy and has worked at the Universite de Paris, Stanford University, City University of New York, and Rutgers.

While he is a secular Jew, he has been known as a vocal opponent of evolution. He is a fellow of an organization promoting intelligent design as a pseudoscientific idea - the Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture. While he says he does not believe in intelligent design he is one of the greatest skeptics on evolution.

As for his personal life, he is the father to journalist Claire Berlinski and the writer Mischa Berlinski.

In David Berlinski’s book The Devil’s Delusion, he points out the rituals, dogma, and hypocrisy of the community of scientists, particularly those who blindly believe in naturalism. He asserts that most of them believe in naturalism without ever seriously questioning its tenets for truth. According to Berlinski, atheism is for the most part laughable.

A Clean Sweep is a fiction work that Berlinski published in 1993. The lead is a man hired to find a businessman who went missing leaving behind all manner of problems. Asherfield is assigned the case but the investigation turns very bizarre when he meets a bunch of characters from the sleazy underside of the city.

In David Berlinski’s novel The Body Shop, Asherfield the investigator finds himself in a bizarre plot that involves murder, illegal accounting shenanigans, blond bombshells, drug dealers, and Russian swindlers.
