Dan Carlin

Dan Carlin (Daniel L. Carlin) was born on November 14th, 1965 and is currently 59 years old. Dan Carlin was born in Los Angeles County, California, USA. Carlin attended the University of Colorado Boulder where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.

Dan Carlin is an American political commentator and podcaster who previously worked as a radio host. Carlin is the host of Common Sense, Hardcore History, and Hardcore History: Adendum, which are three very popular podcasts that have won him many awards and recognitions.

Carlin published his debut novel, The End is Always Near, in 2019. Apart from that, he has also been involved in many other collaborations and media appearances over the years.

Daniel Carlin got his start in media in the 1980s and came into his own when he reported on the Los Angeles riots in 1992.

His first podcast was Common Sense, which he launched in 2005, and was similar to the radio programs he used to host in the 1990s and 2000s. On the podcast, he called himself a neoprudentist as he was always skeptical in evaluating political forces and trends.

In 2006, Daniel Carlin launched Hardcore History, a podcast in which he explored a range of topics in world history. Focusing on specific events in history discussed in theater of mind format, every episode has a different theme from the previous.

In 2019, he developed “The Immersive Memory” virtual reality experience to put viewers of his history podcasts into the trench warfare experience from the First World War.

Over the years, Carlin has taken many varying political stands from political martian to pragmatist, social libertarian to constitutionalist. He has been very vocal about current trends in education reform, civil liberties, state surveillance, free speech, and foreign intervention.

The End Is Always Near by Daniel Carlin is a work that asks some tough questions about historical events. He asks questions such as Can humanity handle powerful weapons without destroying itself, and Do tough times make people tougher, among many others.

He asserts that unless we change our ways, we might become victims of the same fate as our ancestors, leaving behind ruins for future archeologists to explore. He combines history and storytelling to connect the future and the past to put his points across.
