Charles Prepolec

Charles Prepolec was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Charles Prepolec is an editor for various anthologies, primarily the Gaslight series of anthologies featuring Sherlock Holmes.

Charles has worked as an editor for companies such as Titan Books, Belanger Books and EDGE Publishing. Along with editing, he has written contributions for various publications. Charles also worked as an Operations Manager in Calgary at Movie Poster Shop, and attended the University of Calgary.

The Gaslight series of anthologies, which Charles has edited, feature stories of Sherlock Holmes. The twist to the stories is that Sherlock Holmes isn't solving traditional mysteries; he is solving mysteries of the Supernatural.

The first anthology, "Gaslight Grimoire", features stories from authors such as Barbara Hambly and David Stuart Davies. It also included 12 black and white illustrations by Phil Cornell.

There are a variety of different stories, and although they are in the horror genre, some stray off that a bit. "The Lost Boy" by Barbara Hambly falls more into the fantasy genre. "Red Sunset" by Bob Madison would be more of a hard-boiled mystery.

The next Gaslight anthology is "Gaslight Grotesque". This one is focused more on "unspeakable horror", which Charles again edited alongside J.D. Campbell.

Charles has also contributed to some anthologies. He wrote "There is Something Positively Inhuman In You" for the "Sherlock Homes Is Like" anthology, for example, which was edited by Christopher Redmond.
