Charles Denyer

Charles Denyer was in Washington, D.C., on 9/11, the day that the terrorists attacked the Pentagon. Seeing these events unfold and how the nation responded put a new face on our country, and for Charles, it inspired a new mission. He migrated to the private sector, where for the last two decades, he has worked with hundreds of US and international organizations designing and then implementing cybersecurity and tech solutions.

He consults regularly with top business and political leaders throughout the world, including former White House chiefs of staff, ambassadors, vice presidents of the United States, secretaries of state, high-ranking intelligence officials, CEOs, civic leaders, entrepreneurs, as well as others.

The time that he has spent with these transformational figures and the insights that they have shared with him inspired him to tell their stories and hopefully illuminate for others the impact that they have had on our country as well as the rest of the world.

Texas Titans: George H. W. Bush and James A. Baker, III: A Friendship Forged in Power is the story of two of America's most consequential statesmen of the past 50 some years. Baker and Bush are from opposite areas of the country and found friendship on the tennis courts. They helped transform the world during an era of immense change and challenges. They became (and still are) Texas titans. It's a political and personal friendship for the ages.

James A. Baker, III and George H. W. Bush's friendship started back on the tennis courts of the Houston Country Club some 50 years back, as they found themselves paired together as a doubles team, winning back-to-back championships in 1966 and 1967. Despite both men being admittedly weak servers, Bush was the net-and-volley guy, as Baker held down the baseline with his strong groundstroke skills. This same approach of complementary skill sets and teamwork spilled over into their political careers for the decades that followed.

Each man has a legendary resume. Bush served as a US liaison to China, a US congressman, chair of the Republican National Committee, ambassador to the United Nations, director of Central Intelligence, 41st president of the United States, and 43rd vice president.

Baker was twice secretary of the treasury, undersecretary of commerce, secretary of state, and White House chief of staff. He also chaired or played a lead in five successive presidential elections for three different candidates from 1976 to 1992.
