Midsomer Murders is the best crime drama in the history of television. I was a preteen when I started watching it. But even at that tender age, I was mesmerized. Now, I’ve finally decided to give the novels a chance.

It took me three days to finish The Killings at Badger’s Drift. I was nervous beforehand because I was worried that the book would ruin my vision of the show. But alas, the novel exceeded my expectations.

I still think the TV show is better. However, part of me expected the novel to bore me because I know this story. But it was almost like I was viewing the story through a new lens. DCI Barnaby and DS Troy felt somewhat different, and I liked it.
