Brené Brown

Brené Brown (Casandra Brené Brown) was born on November 18th, 1965 and is currently 60 years old. Brené Brown was born in San Antonio, Texas, USA. Brown attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a Master of Social Work degree and the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work where she received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in social work.

Brené Brown is known for writing in the Non-Fiction genre.

Dr. Brene Brown is a University of Houston research professor who is the Graduate College of Social Work Huffington Foundation Endowed Chair. Brown is also the Austin McCombs School of Business visiting professor at the University of Texas.

For the past twenty years, Brene has spent her time exploring empathy, courage, shame, and vulnerability. Writing on these topics, she is the author of half a dozen New York Times best-selling titles and is the host of Dare to Lead and Unlocking Us, which are award-winning podcasts on Spotify.

In 2010, Brene Brown gave the wildly popular Power of Vulnerability TED Talk that has since achieved more than 50 million views. She made history as the first researcher to film a lecture on Netflix, and in 2022, she worked with HBO Max to launch a new show inspired by her book, Atlas of the Heart.

In 2022, Brene began conducting solo episodes and interviews with guests on her podcasts Dare to Lead and Unlocking Us. In her solo episodes, Brown usually tells stories about her experiences and explains things she learned from her research while supplementing it with summaries of other related social science work.

In her personal life, Brown is married to Steve Alley, and together with their two children, they make their home in Houston, Texas.

Brene Brown’s first novel was Women & Shame, in which she explores the topic of shame and why it can be so isolating. She explores how modern humans are bombarded with messages about the importance of being perfect, accepted, and liked, which can result in feelings of superiority when it does not happen.

Brown helps her readers understand the phenomenon and, even more importantly, what to do about it in order to live a more wholesome life.

I Thought It Was Just Me was Brene Brown’s second work, in which she made use of her years of research and interviews to showcase a critical truth. Brown asserts that imperfection is what makes us human and makes it possible for us to connect with other imperfect people. She asserts that it is the connection that gives us true meaning and purpose in life, particularly when we are grateful for our gifts and even our imperfections.
