Billy Crystal (William Edward Crystal) was born on March 14th, 1948 and is currently 78 years old. Billy Crystal was born in Manhattan, New York, USA. Crystal attended New York University where he received a BFA degree. He also attended Marshall University and Nassau Community College.

Billy Crystal is a critically acclaimed producer, comedian, director, actor, and author. Jack Crystal, his father, was a record label executive and jazz promoter who had a lot of influence on the career trajectory of the young Billy.

He got his start in show business in standup comedy, and his breakout role was when he starred on Soap, the situational comedy, as Jodie Dallas. In the sitcom, he made history as one of American television’s first openly gay characters. He would become even more prominent when he was cast in the 1984-1985 season of Saturday Night Live.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Billy Crystal transitioned to film and was a star in several successful movies such as Analyze This, City Slickers, and When Harry Met Sally. He also lent his voice to Pixar’s Monsters when he voiced Mike Wazowski. His directorial debut was on Mr. Saturday Night, which he also starred in.

Billy Crystal has won several Primetime Emmy Awards for his performances hosting the Academy Awards, which he has done nine times. Over his long career, he has been the recipient of many accolades, including the Kennedy Center Honors and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Billy has also been active in charity and has been the co-host of Comic Relief on HBO to support the homeless.
