Read both Good Girl, Bad Girl and When She Was Good in about a week, and just adored Evie Cormac, and couldn’t wait to learn even more about her. She was so relatable and well written being that she was a teen girl, not to mention an incredibly fascinating character to boot.
When She Was Good in particular haunted my dreams during the night and invaded my thoughts in the daytime.
Life or Death is another fantastic read with Audie Palmer’s honorable melancholy still permeating my mind months after finishing it. The novel hooks you right away, and you want to know why Audie would escape the day before getting released.
The publisher responsible for Michael Robotham’s ‘The Secrets She Keeps’ made two mistakes. First of all, they compared the book to ‘The Girl on the Train.’ I am sick of the copycats ‘The Girl on the Train’ inspired. They have saturated the genre.
Secondly, they included a quote from Stephen King praising Robotham. I hate those blurbs because they don’t mean anything. From what I’ve heard, some publishers pay renowned authors a lot of money to praise other authors.
Simply put, I was determined to hate ‘The Secrets She Keeps.’ I expected another rip-off of ‘The Girl on the Train.’ But I was wrong. This book was gripping. I already called my librarian to find out if she has any more books from this author.
I have just recently discovered Michael Robotham but he is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Started with Good Girl, Bad Girl and then read the other two in the series. I am into Bleed for Me and thoroughly enjoying it.
I was introduced to Michael Robotham a couple months and since then have been working my way through all his books and enjoying them immensely. Keep them coming!
