I recommend Jeff Abbott all the time, but primarily to people I know who hate reading. I don’t know what that says about the author. I like Abbott’s books, but laypeople (People new to reading) are obsessed with him.
Then again, most of those people love action movies. So, you could argue that Abbott scratches the same itch. The author has a formula. His books feature ordinary people that have to survive extraordinary situations.
Strangely enough, that formula never gets old. I don’t mind reading about Abbott’s heroes as they do the impossible over and over again. I was prepared to roll my eyes at Sam Capra because he sounded like another predictable one-dimensional action hero. But I can’t get enough of the Sam Capra books.
