Great news for fans of the award-winning author Neil Gaiman, as The Sandman has been adapted into a TV series, and launched on Netflix this weekend.
The Sandman is a comic book series created by Neil Gaiman, and is his most famous work. It initially launched under the DC Comics umbrella back in 1989.
Netflix picked it up in 2019 and the series premiered on August 5th, 2022.
There is currently one season of The Sandman, with 10 episodes.
It stars Tom Sturridge, Boyd Holbrook, and Vivienne Acheampong. Patton Oswalt also does voice work for the show.
It is noteworthy as many thought The Sandman would never be adapted. It was first attempted to be made into a movie back in the early 90s but never made it out of development. In 2013, a movie adaptation was pitched but ended up never being made.
