Winston S. Churchill (Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill) was born on November 30th, 1874. Winston passed away January 24th, 1965 at 90 years old. Winston S. Churchill was born in Blenheim, Oxfordshire, England. Churchill attended Royal Military College, Sandhurst.

Winston S. Churchill was best known as a British Prime Minister, orator, writer, and soldier who led Britain during the Second World War. He was the son of Jennie Jerome, the American heiress, and Lord Randolph Churchill.

He served in the military and was deployed to Sudan and India. During the Second Boer War in South Africa, he would become famous in Britain for his daring escape and subsequent capture.

In 1900, Winston Churchill was elected to parliament on a Conservative Party ticket. Soon after getting into parliament, he joined the liberals and served in different positions in the cabinet.

During the First World War, he was First Lord of the Admiralty but resigned following the disaster that was the Gallipoli Campaign. He would then return to government, where he was vocal in warning the administration against the rising threat of Hitler in Germany.

In 1940, Britain faced up to the Nazis and Churchill was made Prime Minister after Chamberlain stepped down. He rallied the nation with steadfast resolve and moving speeches that made him the epitome of determination and resistance.

Following the war, Churchill became a famous writer as he won the Nobel Prize for Literature for his speeches and historical works. He retired from politics in 1964 and died in 1965. He got a state funeral and is now remembered as one of the greatest leaders in Britain.
