Vonette Bright

Vonette Bright (Vonette Zachary Bright) was born on July 2nd, 1926. Vonette passed away December 23rd, 2015 at 89 years old. Vonette Bright was born in Coweta, Oklahoma, USA. Bright attended Texas Women's University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics.

Vonette Bright was an American author, speaker, and co-founder of Cru. She was well known for organizing prayer rallies and played a key role in the National Day of Prayer task force, which helped establish a fixed date for the event during Ronald Reagan’s presidency. She also served as one of the three women on the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization.

She wrote or co-wrote more than 20 books, including In His Hands, Passion for Prayer, and the Sister Circle series. While she took a more moderate approach to social issues than her husband, she was outgoing and often spoke at conferences.
After Bill Bright passed away in 2003, Vonette continued her ministry work until she passed away in 2015 at the age of 89.

A Place to Belong is the fourth book in the Sister Circle series. Evelyn Peerbaugh has new boarders, but this time, they have no money to pay. Still, she welcomes them into Peerbaugh Place, trusting that God is guiding the Sister Circle. As she helps these women in need, she realizes that God has a new plan for both the Sister Circle and her own life. But she never expected the surprises that await her and Piper.

For more inspiration, The Sister Circle Handbook offers activities, outreach ideas, and recipes from Peerbaugh Place, helping readers create their own Sister Circle. To find out what happens to the women (and Summer) 15 years later, check out Eyes of Our Heart.
