The series was launched in the 1970s when Lou Cameron published
Longarm first novel in 1978 under
Jove Books. He penned the first few novels in the series before other authors stepped in and wrote other novels.
Melvin Marshall published three books in the series starting with
Longarm on the Border in 1978. William C. Knott published half a dozen novels in the series starting with
Longarm and the Avenging Angels in 1978. Frank Roderus then published two novels in the series with his first being
Longarm and the Buckskin Rogue published in 1983.
Chet Cunningham published
Longarm and the Diamond Snatchers in 1993. Gary McCarthy published three titles in the series beginning with
Longarm and the Diablo Gold that came out in 2008. James Reasoner then published forty-eight titles starting with

He intends to pick up the kid and bring him to the federal courts for trial but soon finds things are not so simple.

Longarm on the Border in 1978. In this work, the Deputy Marshall is looking for some people who went missing near the Mexico/Texas border. He then hears that some shady police from a rural town might be involved in cattle rusting and charges in to rectify the situation.
William C. Knott published
Longarm and the Avenging Angels in 1978. In this novel, Longarm is going after a sect that kidnaps a child they intend to make into a bride. He is to get the girl back but soon realizes that the sect is very powerful and has spies everywhere. But he is never one to give up and charges in taking a lot of punishment but is determined to rescue the kid.
