Steve Austin

Steve Austin (Steven James Anderson) was born on December 18th, 1964 and is currently 61 years old. Steve Austin was born in Austin, Texas, USA.

Steve Austin otherwise known by the name Stone Cold Steve Austin is best known for his work in the WWF as a professional wrestler before he became a TV personality.

Before Austin joined professional wrestling he played football as a linebacker. It was in the late 1980s that he embarked on a wrestling career where he teamed up with Brian Pillman as a member of The Hollywood Blondes. He would then join Extreme Championship Wrestling where he established the persona of a garbage-mouthed and tough punk.

But it was when Austin joined the WWF that he became a superstar. Competing as a middle finger-flipping and foul-mouthed character named Stone Cold, he won over the fans. He would become even more popular when he won the championship at Wrestlemania. His ratings reached an all-time high when he had a long-running feud with Vince McMahon the owner of the WWF.

By the late 1990s, he was rivals with a cocky wrestler named The Rock in a feud that packed arenas and got very high ratings. However an injury forced him off wrestling in 2000 and by the time he came back, the Rock had taken over his place as the People’s Champion.

Austin retired from wrestling in 2003 and embarked on a film career. He would then be cast in the 2005 movie The Longest Yard, where he played the tough guy role alongside Adam Sandler. He also had a critically acclaimed performance in The Expendables in 2010.

In 2004, Steve Austin published The Stone Cold Truth.

The work tells Austin’s story from his early childhood, his wildness, his successes and failures. He also tells of how he developed a passion for wrestling, even as he tells of how the business chews people up and spits them up. He tells of the people he had feuds with, the many friends he made in the world of pro wrestling, and ultimately the injuries that finally plagued him in the latter part of his career that forced him to retire before his time.
