Nana Oforiatta Ayim was born in Ghana. Oforiatta Ayim attended University of London where she received a Master's Degree in African Art History, University of Bristol where she received a Degree in Russian and Politics and University of Oxford where she received a DPhil in Museology and Museum Studies.
Nana Oforiatta Ayim has written one standalone novel so far. This novel is called The God Child and was released in 2019. There are no upcoming standalone novels by Nana at this time.
Her maternal grandfather was Nana Sir Ofori Atta I, the king of Akyem Abuakwa, and her great-uncle was J. B. Danquah, the scholar and politician who started the political party that brought about Independence.
She is the founder of the ANO Institute of Arts & Knowledge in Accra, she also created a pan-African Cultural Encyclopaedia which will eventually be published in 54 volumes, one for each country.
Nana is also a filmmaker, and her films are shown in Musuems all over the globe. Her titles are, Nowhere Else But Here, Tied and True, Jubilee at the Kunsthall Stavanger, and Agbako.
Nana received the 2015 Art & Technology Award and the 2016 AIR Award, she was named one of the Apollo "40 under 40", she received the Ghana Innovation Award in 2020, the Woman of The Year Award in Ghana in 2021, and in 2022 she was awarded the Dan David Prize.
