Before I read his work, I thought Mike Omer was a fantasy author. I can’t remember why. I think a friend of mine mentioned him in relation to The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, but I can’t remember the context.
However, all the Mike Omer recommendations I’ve received thus far have been mysteries and thrillers. Not that I’m complaining. Before I buy a novel, I spend hours skimming the reviews online.
I knew I would like Omer because he writes mysteries and thrillers, yet the reviews of his novels were not filled with people complaining about weak plots and twists they could see a mile away.
Many mystery authors are off-putting to me because they write highly predictable mysteries. But that is one criticism Omer has avoided thus far. And after reading half a dozen Mike Omer novels, I agree with the people who commend the author for keeping them on the edge of their seats.
Honestly, I always wonder why some people dislike Mike Mike Omer’s novels. He keeps me guessing throughout her novels, and his stories are not easily predictable. Most of his work is educative and entertaining, and that’s what made me his huge fan. I love good books that invite me into the make-believe world while giving details until I feel like I’m part of the world, and Omer’s books offer that. I just started reading Glenmore Park Mystery series, and so far, I can say that it’s an excellent police procedural and crime series. I can’t wait to read the entire list of books in the series. Omer’s suspenseful and mystery writing always keeps me on my toes.
