Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama (Michelle LaVaughn Robinson) was born on January 17th, 1964 and is currently 62 years old. Michelle Obama was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Obama attended Princeton University where she received a B.A. and Harvard University where she received a J.D. (Juris Doctor).

Michelle Obama is an author and attorney that served as the first lady of the United States from 2009 until 2017, being married to the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama.

She was the first African-American woman to serve as the First Lady. As First Lady, she worked as an advocate for education, nutrition, poverty awareness, physical activity, and healthy eating.

She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Princeton University. During her early legal career, she worked at Sidley Austin, the law firm where she met her future husband.

After that she worked in various non profits and while being the associate dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago. Later on she served as the vice president for community and external affairs at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

She married Barack in 1992, and they have two daughters together.

Becoming is an intimate, inspiring, and powerful memoir by the former first lady of the United States.

In a life that’s been filled with accomplishment and meaning, Michelle’s emerged as being one of the most iconic and compelling women of our era. As the first lady of the United States of America, the first African American to serve in such a role, she helped in creating the most inclusive and welcoming White House in history as she established herself as a powerful advocate for girls and women in America and around the world, dramatically changing the ways that families pursue more active and healthier lives, and standing with her husband while he led America through some of its most harrowing of moments. Along the way, she crushed Carpool Karaoke, showed us a few dance moves, and raised two down-to-earth daughters under quite the unforgiving media glare.

In this memoir, which is a work of mesmerizing storytelling and deep reflection, she invites readers and listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences which have shaped her, from a childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world’s most famous address. With lively wit and unerring honesty, she describes her disappointments and triumphs, both private and public, telling her complete story as she’s lived it, in her own words and on her own terms.

Wise, warm, and revelatory, this is a deeply personal reckoning of one woman of substance and soul who’s steadily defied expectations, and whose own story inspires us to do the exact same.
