I have encountered too many historical fiction novelists that turn every potentially exciting story into a long-winded lecture. This is where Michael Jecks shines.
I have friends that love history. I haven’t asked them what they think of the historical accuracy of Jecks’ novels. But if I’m being honest, I don’t care. Jecks’ books are entertaining, and that is all that matters. The characters are interesting, and the author spends enough time explaining the historical cultures, traditions, and architecture without killing the momentum of the story.
