My relationship with Mary Kubica is off to a great start. I was already rolling my eyes by the time I opened the first page of ‘The Good Girl.’ Let’s be honest. If you saw the cover and read the synopsis, you also expected another ‘Gone Girl’ rip-ff.
In fact, before buying the book, many of the reviews I read compared ‘The Good Girl’ to ‘Gone Girl.’ But they lied. Some readers think every psychological thriller with a few unlikeable characters and a missing heroine is a ‘Gone Girl’ rip-off.
‘Gone Girl’ was decent. ‘The Good Girl’ was fun because it had plenty of organic suspense. I enjoyed exploring Mia and Colin’s dynamic as she tried to figure out whether or not she could trust him. Hopefully, ‘Local Woman Missing’ is equally entertaining.
Just the Nicest Couple was the first book I read by this author. I really enjoyed it and will be checking out her earlier books.
