Leslie Gray Streeter
Leslie Gray Streeter is better known as an author, columnist, and journalist who combines serious topics with humour. After working with several papers over the years, she now writes about everyday life, culture, grief, and lifestyle for The Baltimore Banner.
Before that, she worked for The Palm Beach Post as a lifestyle and entertainment columnist covering relationships, pop culture, and personal stories. Her writing has also been featured in prestigious publications such as The Atlantic, The Miami Herald, and The Washington Post.
Beyond journalism, Leslie Gray Streeter is a podcast co-host and speaker. She often speaks at events about healing and grief and is a cohost of
Fine Beats and Cheeses, the pop culture podcast. In her public talks, she helps her audience understand loss while still finding it in themselves to connect and laugh.
As a public figure and journalist, she has developed a reputation for a real-world perspective and a steady voice. Through her media work, speaking, and columns, she continues to shape conversations about modern life, culture, and grief.
In her most popular work,
Black Widow, she wrote a memoir about love, grief, and how to move forward after a great loss. The work follows a woman named Leslie, who recently lost her husband, Scott. He left her to raise their young son while dealing with the confusion, sadness, and shock. Her life has completely changed, and now she has to deal with increased responsibility and emotional pain. As she adjusts, she reflects on memory, marriage, and what it means to be a widow. While she has moments of deep sadness, she also has moments full of humour as the work shows that grief is often unpredictable.
Leslie Gray Streeter then published the novel
Family & Other Calamities in 2025. It follows Dawn, an entertainment journalist dealing with the pain of her husband’s death while also dealing with old scandals and betrayals that are threatening her reputation. When she is back in Baltimore, she comes face to face with her past as old relationships, including tension with Joe Perkins, her old mentor, resurface. One of his corruption exposés is being adapted into a movie, and Dawn feels he misrepresented her as a villain. Back home, she works with friends to try to rebuild her life, seek the truth, and clear her name.
