Jonathan Ward
Jonathan Ward was born in England.
Jonathan Ward has wanted to be an author since he was only eight years old. His writing skills have likely improved since then, but the author likes to joke otherwise.
He is a prolific short story writer in the genres of science fiction, horror, and fantasy. He has contributed to numerous anthologies in his writing career, including
The Girl at the End of the World,
100 Horrors,
In An Unknown Country, and
Winter Tales.
Ward is from the metropolis of Bedford in England. When he's not writing, Jonathan enjoys reading books and exploring new places. Of course, he also enjoys a good time at the pub with close friends, where he shares his sarcastic humor.
In the Fox Pocket Anthology,
Guardians, Ward contributed with the short story
Gateway. He also contributed a short story called
The Collector to another Fox Pocket Anthology,
Missing Monarchs. In
Winter Tales, a horror-themed winter anthology, Ward offers the short story
Spirit of the Season.
Ward is also the author of the novel,
Into the Blight, his full-length fantasy novel debut. The book takes place in a world where a firedrake has returned and taken over the nation of Aaran. A neighboring kingdom, Taleria, fears that the firedrake will come for them next and decides to venture out to a cursed land where an ancient power is buried. However, there are some things in this world that should remain buried.
Caleuche is Ward's second full-length novel, and this one switches from the genre of fantasy to a space opera. The story takes place in a universe where the world has fallen to an endless tide of self-replicating killing machines known as the Bugs. Only a small portion of humanity has survived, with the last ship to escape being the passenger vessel Caleuche. They face a desperate struggle to survive in the darkness of space, and, worst of all, they may not be alone.
