Seawolf.
In 1946, Jimmy Carter got married and when his father died in 1953, he quit the Navy and returned to Georgia with his family. Back home in Georgia, he was in charge of his father’s farms, and together with his wife, they operated the general-purpose farm supply and seed company
Carter’s Warehouse.
It was not long before Carter became a community leader as he sat on county boards and supervised the library, the hospital authority, and education. In 1962, he was elected to the state Senate, and in 1971, he won the gubernatorial elections to become Georgia’s 76th governor.
In 1974, Jimmy Carter announced that he would be vying for President of the United States. As chairman of the
Democratic National Convention, he won the nomination of the
Democratic Party. Two years later, Carter was elected the 39th president of the United States.
Serving as president of the United States for four years between 1977 and 1981, he was responsible for passing some very crucial policies both on the domestic and international front. He was known for championing peace in the Americas, the Middle East, and the Far East. On the domestic front, he reformed education, energy, finance, and communications policy.
