I find that James Clavell writes to shock his readers with gratuity and rough language. I’ve yet to finish one of his novels, because there’s so many better authors out there. Want an epic novel that doesn’t make you feel like you’re carousing in the bottom of the barrel with the worst of humanity? Read James Michener.
