Elizabeth Knox: TV/Movies Based on Books
Elizabeth Knox's novel The Vinter's Luck was adapted to a film by the same name. The movie was directed and co-written by Niki Caro. The film starred Jérémie Renier, Vera Farmiga, Gaspard Ulliel, and Keisha Castle-Hughes.
The film won three awards at the 2010 New Zealand Film & TV Awards, including Best Lead Actress for Vera Farmiga, and was nominated for two others. At the 2011 Houston International Film Festival, Niki Caro won the Gold Remi Best Directing award and the film itself won the Special Jury Award for Best Foreign Film. At the 2011 Sedona International Film Festival, the movie won Best Period Film.
