Writing is something that Davina Bell developed an interest in while still very young. Her father had a tradition of taking Davina and her siblings to the local bookstore and she always loved those visits since her father was very busy and rarely spent time at home. According to Bell, holding his hand while walking into the bookshop always felt sacred and solemn.
She used to be the student who would ace the creative writing class and pen twenty pages when the teacher had asked for two. However, she stopped when she lost her confidence as a twelve-year-old. It was not until she was in her twenties that she went back to writing long-form content.
Davina Bell currently lives in Melbourne, Australia where she works at Allen and Unwin the children's fiction publisher as an editor. Since she loves ideas and words in all its forms, she is a regular traveler and she is often on the road speaking to adults and children about writing and books.
