Dave Batista

Dave Batista (David Michael Bautista Jr.) was born on January 18th, 1969 and is currently 56 years old. Dave Batista was born in Washington, D.C., USA.

Dave Batista is an American actor and retired professional wrestler famously known for wrestling in WWE from 2002 to 2019, where he was known by the ring name "Batista." He featured in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies as Drax the Destroyer (using his real name of Dave Bautista). Batista had a successful wrestling career. He won the World Heavyweight Championship four times, the WWE Championship twice, the WWE Tag Team Championship once, and the World Tag Team Championship thrice. He also won the Royal Rumble in 2005 and 2014. He retired from wrestling on April 7, 2019, after his final match at WrestleMania 35, where he lost to Triple H in a No Holds Barred match. Batista also tried mixed martial arts and won his only fight by TKO against Vince Lucero.

Batista, known across the globe as WWE’s The Animal, was one of the most loved and dominant wrestlers in recent years. Everyone loved his incredible strength, his electrifying presence in the ring, and his intense wrestling style, which transformed him from a villain to a hero.

But what many don’t know is that Batista didn’t even start his wrestling career until he was 30 years old—an age when most wrestlers consider retiring. His journey to becoming one of the greatest took a toll on his personal life. Even though he stayed away from drugs and alcohol, he struggled with a different kind of addiction: women. This addiction led to the end of his marriage—the same relationship that had seen him rise to stardom in just a matter of two years.

In his book Batista Unleashed, he opens up about his personal struggles and the choices that shaped his life. He tells of how an injury—largely blamed on Mark Henry—made him lose his championship title and miss out on a chunk of earnings. But this setback set the stage for a powerful comeback that solidified his legacy as a true champion.

Batista also reflects on his tough upbringing. He does not shy away from his troubled past, which includes a drug conviction and an overturned assault charge. He also recalls his time as a lifeguard, bouncer, and bodybuilder, which he believes saved his life.

After joining WWE, he immediately discovered that he wasn’t ready for the big stage. His career was uncertain until Fit Finlay took him under his wing.

But behind the tough persona the whole world knows, Batista reveals a softer side. While most people might mistake his quiet nature for arrogance, he describes himself as shy and emotional. The tears we all witnessed when he won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21 were genuine. Additionally, he also opens up about his struggles with relationships and how becoming a grandfather transformed him. He admits he’s made mistakes, like his backstage fight with Undertaker. He is also honest about his weaknesses as a wrestler and the hard work he put into improving.

In the ring, Batista was fierce and unstoppable, but in everyday life, Batista is an honest, humble, and relatable man who has faced his demons and worked hard to overcome them.
