He makes use of experiments in which people are presented with challenges and how they react in ways that are not for their own good. He then offers a theory about why he believes this happens.
Ariely published his second most popular work,
Dollars and Sense, in 2017. In the work, he challenges our assumptions about the relationship between our money and our brains which often results in the breaking of financial principles resulting in bad outcomes. He explores everything from the lure of credit cards to the seduction of sales.
