Chetan Bhagat (Chetan Prakash Bhagat) was born on April 22nd, 1974 and is currently 52 years old. Chetan Bhagat was born in New Delhi, India. Bhagat attended Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi where he received a B.Tech degree and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad where he received an MBA degree.

Chetan Bhagat is best known as a columnist and author from India who also doubles up as a motivational speaker, YouTuber, screenwriter, and ex-investment banker. In 2010, he was listed on the World’s 100 Most Influential People in Time Magazine.

He was brought up in a traditional Hindu Punjabi family and as an adult, he served in the Indian Army, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He developed his passion for authorship while he was in school where he used to write jokes for the school magazine.

In 1997, Bhagat got a placement in Canada at Peregrine Investment Holdings only for the company to close less than six months later. He would then work in Hong Kong as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs. It was while he was working in Hong Kong that he wrote his debut novel Five Point Someone.

In 2008, Chetan Bhagat moved back to India alongside his family. He would get a job at Deutsche Bank as a director. Later that year, he published his third novel which became wildly successful. By 2009, he left his banking job to become a full-time author.

Chetan has worked as a celebrity judge and played himself in Decoupled, the Netflix Show. He has been a screenwriter for the 2013 film Kai Po Che, which was adapted from his third novel. He also hosts a podcast titled Deep Talk, where he interviews people who have made it big in life.

Chetan Bhagat published his most-reviewed novel One Indian Girl in 2016. It follows Radhika, a young Indian woman who works at Goldman Sachs as an investment banker. She also has an opinion of everything and this may not make her the most likable person. However, she is the quintessential modern Indian girl who has just about everything she needs.

2 States is a work that Chetan Bhagat published in 2009. The novel follows two star-crossed lovers from Chennai and Delhi who are determined to convince their parents to let them get married. The work is set in three different cities and showcases the differences in ambitions, values, and thinking of various cultures and individuals.
