I am obsessed with Lonesome Dove. I found the first novel in my school library when I was ten, and I devoured it. Then I went hunting for the sequels in the years that followed. These days, I re-read the entire series once a year.

I know the books so well that I can recite some sections from memory. No other cowboy movie, TV show, or book will ever eclipse what Larry McMurtry did with this series.

I know that he wrote more books over the course of his career. But Lonesome Dove stands out to me as his greatest creation. I cannot wait to introduce the series to my children and grandchildren.
