My first encounter with Leslie Meier’s work was ‘Irish Parade Murder’ which, if you know anything about this author, you know that ‘Irish Parade Murder’ is a stupid starting point. You can’t start a long-running series from the 27th installment.
I wasn’t Lucy Stone’s biggest fan, and I would have abandoned this author if it wasn’t for a Meier fanatic in my dorm who promised to clean my room if I read the Lucy Stone series from book 1.
Ten books later, Lucy has grown on me. Meier has a way of immersing her audience in the atmosphere and traditions of small towns.
It’s hard not to find sparkle and warmth in Leslie Meier’s work, and lovers of domestic mysteries can confirm it. His stories have characters that one can relate to in real life. The Lucy Stone cozy mystery series won my heart with the Christmas flavor. Lucy Stone is a fantastic character, and one can’t help but admire her; even though she is not perfect, she is still a great mother and wife. She is a character that every working mother can easily relate to. Meier has never failed to add suspense in her work to keep her reader on their toes, guessing what will happen next.
