Hi everyone. Welcome to the May 2025 Recap!
A big thank you from us to everyone who joined the Page Turners Club over the last month. Your support and trust mean the world to us. Seeing so many people sign up to support us or donate directly to the site has been incredible. Thank You.
We experienced some severe slowdown on the website in the early part of May. This was primarily due to a steady increase in traffic, which overloaded our servers. Thanks to the support of the members of the Page Turners Club, we were able to upgrade to a much better server and we should have no more issues going forward.
If you’re not a member yet and want to support us while enjoying an ad-free experience, visit this page for more information. And if you are a member, our latest contest is now live on the site, where you can win a copy of Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell, which releases on June 24th.
Care, our new Social Media Manager, has been creating great content all month. She’s introduced a few recurring video series that have received great feedback: Opening Lines, From the ‘Blurbs, and Did You Know? are just some of the fun video ideas she’s brought to our socials.
Care is also hosting our official I Care About Books Book Club podcast, and the first episode is available now. Our first pick is The Women by Kristin Hannah. If you want your thoughts on the book to be read out on the next podcast, be sure to e-mail them to care@booknotification.com. I’ve read it, and I can’t wait to discuss it and pick the next book. Episode 2 should be available within the first two weeks of June.
Vince, one of the key team members who wears many hats at Book Notification, has created a new video series titled Book Notification At the Movies, where he explores adaptations from a particular year, and shares fun bits of trivia about them. Check out his video on 1985 adaptations.
Along with all that great content, there’s been a lot of notable work on the website. There are some new features related to printing and calendars which we cover below, and we re-designed the podcast page now that we have two podcasts.
Here are just some of the new features we have coming up over the next few months:
- My Library Revamp: Design will remain the same, however there will be some big changes for better performance, plus some minor improvements based on user requests.
- Author Notes: You can currently create notes about books and we’ll be adding the ability to make notes on authors, as well as a general notepad area.
- Book Clubs: Similar to our awards pages, you will soon be able to see lists of books picked by book clubs such as Reese Witherspoon’s, and track which books you have read from that selection.
- Series Search: Currently we have the ability to search by author and by book title, and soon by series.
Finally, we are planning on launching a weekly Book Recommendations Newsletter in June. This won’t be personalized recommendations (that will likely come in 2026), but will cover various books over different genres, and will land in your mailbox each Friday. You need to opt-in for that, so visit your email settings page and make sure the Author & Book Recommendations box is checked if you want to receive the recommendations newsletter.
Until the next chapter,
Graeme

Site Improvements & Updates
Add Book Releases to External Calendar: You now have the option of adding a book release date to an external calendar like Google Calendar or Apple Calendar. To do so, just visit your personalized calendar and click on any book,

Custom Printing: Alongside our easy-print methods, we have now launched the ability to customize your print job. You will see this option when you choose to Print/Download an authors book list:

If you choose the “Custom Print” option, you can choose to hide/show options such as your book rating, the chronological order, whether you have read the book or not, print specific series and more.
77,000 Authors: We have now hit, and surpassed, the 77,000 author mark. That is over 77,000 authors whose book listings have been audited, organized into the appropriate series, checked for chronological order, alternate titles, etc. An incredible job from our database team.
New Content Added
In addition to adding authors, we post a lot of book news and book-related content to Book Notification each month. Here are the highlights since the last newsletter:

Quality content and discussion are always beneficial for our website. This month, we are running the same contest – asking you to write a comment on an author’s page. It can be whatever you want. You can write about how they are your favourite author, what their best book or series is, or about an adaptation of their book. Any and all comments are welcome.
We will give away ten $25 USD gift cards to random people who have submitted a comment from the day this newsletter was published, up until the beginning of the next newsletter. Each comment earns you an entry (or ‘ticket’) into the draw, and you can enter and win multiple times so comment as often as you’d like!
Members of the Page Turners Club will get an additional entry into the contest for every comment they post.
The comment form is at the bottom of every author’s page, under the title “Author Discussion”.
Thanks to everyone for your support. It’s genuinely appreciated.
