Book Notification Newsletter: March 2026 Recap

Welcome!Hi everyone. Welcome to the March 2026 Recap.[Read Online]

We have a mobile app on the road map for later this year. However, before we get there, we want to make sure the mobile version of the website is as smooth as possible – from how it looks to how it functions.

If you primarily use Book Notification on your phone and want to help improve it, please reply to this email. We’re looking for some of you to help us optimize the entire site to make sure it’s the best it can be before we take that next step.

We are also making some upgrades to the Tuesday email. Based on your feedback, you’ll soon have the option to remove books marked ‘Not Interested’ or ‘Read’ from your list. We’ll also display any book tags you’ve assigned – like ‘Pre-Ordered’ – by default.

These changes start rolling out in April, so if there is anything else you’d like to see, just hit reply with your suggestions.

Our big feature this month is Author Progress Cards. More about that below.

This month marks the one-year anniversary of our Page Turners Club. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last year. I think most people would be surprised at just how much manual work goes into maintaining each author page. The initial audit of their books and series is really only the beginning. We’re constantly tracking upcoming titles, monitoring books that get pulled from pre-order, and checking for title changes or series revisions.

It’s a huge daily effort. With over 1,000 new books coming into the system every day- a number that grows the more authors we add – it takes a lot of hands-on work to keep everything organized. If you’ve been thinking about joining the club, we’d love to have you. Every membership helps us continue growing Book Notification and improving the experience for readers. Thank you.

I’ve been reading The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells recently. They’re very enjoyable, and there’s a big appeal in those shorter stories that don’t require as much of a time commitment. I’m looking forward to watching the adaptation of the first novella soon.

Speaking of which – I was very impressed with the Project Hail Mary adaptation, based on the novel by Andy Weir. It was excellent, and they really captured the Grace/Rocky relationship.

I read a lot of good books in March, but the one that stuck with me the most was Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak. I can still picture the drawings from the book. If you’re looking for a creative thriller which borders on horror and the supernatural, I’d recommend it.

Until the next chapter,

Graeme
Book Notification Founder

Site Improvements & Updates

Author Progress Cards: This feature is in beta at the moment. Now you can create a progress card for your reading history of any author to share on social media.

It’s highly customizable, too. You can choose what to display or hide (like unreleased books or the progress bar), pick from a variety of backgrounds and fonts, and even select your favourite checkmark style! Here are two examples:

Check out our Author Progress Cards guide to see how it works. If you have any feedback on it or run into any issues, just hit reply and let us know.

Care’s Book Loot: We’ve given this page a fresh new look to make it much easier to browse. It’s now a lot simpler to scroll through everything – be sure to check out the book-style cutting boards!

Author Images: We’ve simplified how we handle author photos so it’s easier to put a face to a name. In the past, there was often a delay between adding a new author and uploading their picture. We’ve fixed that – images are now added at the same time the author goes live on the site.

Average Ratings: Based on your feedback, we now display the average ratings of books on book club pages. It’s a great way to see what other readers are saying before you dive into your next book club pick.

All Authors Page: We’ve revamped our all Authors list. It loads much faster now, is sorted by both surname and first name, and includes the ‘Quick Follow’ feature.

Quotes: We’ve just added new sections for Rainy Day Quotes and Wedding Quotes. Care moonlights as a wedding DJ, so she had a lot of fun researching the wedding ones!

We will give away ten $25 USD gift cards to random people who have submitted a comment from the day this newsletter was published, up until the beginning of the next newsletter. Each comment earns you an entry (or ‘ticket’) into the draw, and you can enter and win multiple times so comment as often as you’d like!

We will randomly select ten winners to receive a $25 USD gift card. Entries are open from now until the publication of the next newsletter.

Members of the Page Turners Club will get an additional entry into the contest.
