Becky McGraw, beloved author of contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels, has passed away. Fellow author P.J. Fiala shared the news in a post on Facebook.
Becky penned multiple series, including Texas Trouble, Deep Six Security, and Cowboy Way. A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, she poured her heart into her stories, crafting strong heroines, sexy heroes, and infusing each tale with humor and heat.
Her works spanned everything from second-chance romances to high-stakes suspense. For example, in My Kind of Trouble, the first book in her Texas Trouble series, Becky’s sharp wit and talent for character development shine as Cassie Bellamy returns home to run her family’s ranch, but she’s determined to avoid Luke Matthews, the ex who broke her heart—but when her fiancé’s true intentions come to light, she must rely on the now-reformed bad boy sheriff to protect her life and, perhaps, her heart. The novel balances romance and intrigue well, and it’s described as “laugh-out-loud funny” by many.
In Till Death in her Deep Six Security erotic romantic suspense series, when FBI agent Susan Whitmore shows up at Dave Logan’s Deep Six Security demanding a job, he reluctantly hires her as his temporary secretary. Their first case—posing as a married couple to infiltrate a shady fertility clinic—quickly turns dangerous, forcing these two strong-willed alphas to work together to survive, or risk their “till death do us part” becoming all too real. Till Death received high marks all-around from her readers for its romance, suspense, character development, pace, and humor.
In addition to writing, Becky was proud to call herself a “Jill of many trades.” She was a skilled graphic designer, crafting covers for other authors, including P.J. Fiala’s Lynyrd Station Protectors – Security series. “She was spirited, had an intuitive marketing sense, and she was a straight shooter,” Fiala wrote, praising Becky’s creativity and dedication.
Becky was a proud member of the Romance Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and Novelists, Inc., actively engaging with her peers and aspiring writers.
She is survived by her husband of over thirty years, Ricky, three children, and one grandchild. Her legacy will continue through her memorable stories and the readers whose hearts she touched.
