The wait is officially over! The 2025 Goodreads Choice Award winners are in.
For those unfamiliar, the appeal of the Goodreads Choice Awards lies in its democratic nature: voting is open to any registered Goodreads user – and registration is free. This setup offers a refreshing change from other awards determined solely by professionals or paid members (not that we don’t love those equally as much).
Now in its 17th iteration, the awards continue to get bigger every year. This year alone saw an astounding 7,516,397 votes cast. If you were a small part of that number, well done – you’ve executed your civic literary duty!
The release of this list is always a highlight of the year. Not only does it confirm our love for the winners we voted for, but it allows for passionate arguments about why our favourite books that came up short were definitively robbed of their rightful place. And that, of course, is half the fun.

Congratulations to all 15 winners. A significant nod goes to Rebecca Yarros for achieving a spectacular double win.
