The James Patterson + Bookshop.org Prize Longlist Is Here

Bookshop.org and James Patterson have launched a new prize that puts indie booksellers front and center. The James Patterson + Bookshop.org Prize celebrates outstanding full-length debut books, all nominated and selected by independent booksellers.

Two quick highlights worth calling out right away: The Correspondent by Virginia Evans has been a true word-of-mouth breakout, and The Slip by Lucas Schaefer has the kind of buzz that tends to snowball fast (it’s a big, bold debut with a hook you can pitch in one sentence). If you want something urgent and genre-bending, The Hollow Half by Sarah Aziza is another standout.

The prize’s five-book shortlist is set to be announced March 16, with the winner revealed April 6th, on Independent Bookstore Day.

Here is the longlist:

Congrats to all nominees.
