The Chronicles of Amber Adaptation News

The Chronicles of Amber, a very popular series of novels by author Roger Zelazny, may be getting adapted for television in the near future.

Roger sadly passed in 1995, but the Ohio native and multiple award winner had a lot of fans including George R.R. Martin.

Martin, the writer of the Song Of Ice and Fire series, has talked many times about The Chronicles of Amber, and how he hopes to see his favourite fantasy novel series brought to life on the big screen.

George recently stated that he wants to see that series, in particular, the novel Nine Princes in Amber, adapted into TV. Host of The Late Show, Stephen Colbert recently commented to say that he agreed with Martin, and would like to get on board with the project.

He has partnered with Skybound and Vincent Newman to work on bringing this series to television. Skybound initially started working on a TV series based on The Chronicles of Amber with Robert Kirkman, who created The Walking Dead.

This will not be the first adaptation for Zelazny. In 1977, a movie called Damnation Alley was released based on the standalone novel of the same name.

With Colbert on board, their next job is to search for a writer. The actual adaptation is a long way off if it happens, but this is still very popular news for Zelazny fans.
