Author Susie Steiner has sadly passed away at the age of 51. We at Book Notification send our condolences.
Susie Steiner was the author of the very popular DS Manon Bradshaw series. There were three books released in the series. The first novel was Missing, Presumed which was nominated for a Barry Award, and also nominated for Crime Novel of the Year at the Theakston’s Old Peculier awards.
Her second novel in that series, Persons Unknown, was also nominated for that same award at the Theakston’s.
Susie was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2017. Her twitter account (@SusieSteiner1 announced her passing on July 3rd, with the following tweet:
Susie had grown up in North London. At university, she studied English while training as a journalist. She worked within the journalism field for two decades.
Susie spent the majority of the time working at The Guardian. She also wrote for publications such as The Independent and The Mail on Sunday.
In 2013, she released her first novel which was a standalone novel called Homecoming.
Her next novel, Missing, Presumed was also a Richard & Judy book club pick, selling more than a quarter million copies in the UK alone.
