June is almost here, and we have many exciting TV and movie adaptations to look forward to this month.
The Breakdown by B.A. Paris
The second novel written by B.A. Paris, and the second highest rated book by her on Book Notification is getting an adaptation, which is releasing this month.
The novel “The Breakdown” will be adapted into a movie titled “Blackwater Lane”. In the book, Cass drives home during a big storm and sees a car that appears to be broken down. There was a woman inside the vehicle, and she is later discovered murdered. Cass has never been the same since that moment, and she worries that she has dementia as she keeps forgetting everything. She becomes more and more paranoid.
The movie is billed as a supernatural thriller featuring Maggie Grace, Dermot Mulroney, and Natalie Simpson. Megan Stewart wrote the screenplay, and “Blackwater Lane” premieres on June 21st, 2024.
Queen’s Gambit by Elizabeth Fremantle
“Queen’s Gambit”, the first novel in the Tudor Trilogy by Elizabeth Fremantle, is being adapted to a movie this month. It is going to be called “Firebrand”.
Firebrand will be released on June 14th, 2024, and stars Alicia Vikander, Jude Law and Eddie Marsan. This great series is worth reading, especially if you are a historical fiction fan. “Queen’s Gambit” is the story of the legendary Queen of England, Katherine Parr, the last of King Henry VIII’s wives.
Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
The debut novel by Candice Carty-Williams, “Queenie”, is being adapted to television this month.
It is an eight-episode series based on the book that won Book of the Year at the British Book Awards in 2020. “Queenie” will air on Hulu and star Dionne Brown as Queenie Jenkins, a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman who lives in London.
Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow
The first book in the Kindle County Legal Thriller series, and the book on every person’s bookshelf in the 90s, is getting an adaptation for Apple TV+. “Presumed Innocent” was written by Scott Turow.
Jake Gyllenhall is the series star, playing the character Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor who becomes the prosecuted.
The Boys Season 4
Great news for fans of the comic book series The Boys: The fourth season of this excellent show premieres on Prime Video this month. We’ll see some new actors in the show, such as Susan Heyward and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
The Watchers by A.M. Shine
In 2022 A.M. Shine penned his first standalone novel “The Watchers” and just two years later, he gets to see the adaptation of it.
This is one for horror fans. A young artist gets stranded in a forest alongside three strangers and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. It releases on June 7th.
