June is here, and depending on where you live, it’s one of the best months. It means the beginning of Summer, which brings patios galore, unlimited ice cream cones, and, of course, beach reads.
If you’re planning on some lounging in the sun reading this month, then we’ve got lots of great new books releasing. You can, of course, see the Book Release Calendar to have a glance at all of the new books releasing in June.
This article covers new book releases by the most popular authors on Book Notification, and I am particularly excited for the Alibis Collection, which launches June 2nd. That’s a short story multi-author series by the likes of Freida McFadden, Sally Hepworth and David Lagercrantz.
I had the pleasure of reading Freida’s entry, Death Row, and thought it was great, so I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Here’s a look at just some of the new books releasing by the most popular authors on Book Notification:
June 2nd:
James Patterson and Bill Clinton team up again. This will be the third novel the two have worked on together, and the title of their latest standalone novel is The First Gentleman.
June 3rd:
Murder at Hambledon Hall releases on the first big Tuesday release day of the month. This is the 10th novel in the Cleopatra Fox Mysteries series by C.J. Archer.
Brett Battles is doing a tremendous job of carrying on the Stone Barrington series and will continue to do so with the release of the 66th novel, Finders Keepers.
One of my favourite thriller authors is Julie Clark, and I am excited to see a new standalone novel by her hitting bookshelves the day before I have to travel. I’ll be sure to be reading The Ghostwriter on my flights this week.
If you are in the mood for romantic comedy, then we’ve got the perfect summer read for you, as Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn releases on this day.
June 10th:
The next big Tuesday release day is headlined by Stephen King, who releases The Life of Chuck. Initially featured in If It Bleeds, this is a moving, mind-bending story told in reverse, exploring one man’s life and legacy as the world crumbles.
Jack Carr, author of the very popular James Reece series, tries his hand at a new book series featuring the father of James, Tom Reece. The first novel in the Tom Reece series, Cry Havoc, is the highlight of the second big Tuesday release day of June.
We have a new novel by S. A. Cosby releasing on this day, and Adam Lazarre-White is again narrating this Cosby novel. He provides an incredible voice, and I can’t wait to hear him narrate King of Ashes, when Roman Carruthers returns home to save his family from debt, danger, and dark secrets, using brains, grit, and whatever it takes.
Also on June 10th is the latest standalone novel by Peter Swanson. A great thriller author, the premise of this one sounds very interesting, as it’s a murder mystery told backwards. I cannot wait to see how that plays out in Kill Your Darlings.
And if you’re a fan of thrillers, you might want to take out a loan on June 9th because you’re going to be spending a fair bit of cash on June 10th.
We also have the latest Riley Sager novel. Titled With A Vengeance, it’s one train, no stops, and a deadly game of survival and revenge.
And the thrill ride doesn’t end there. J.D. Barker, along with Richard Bailey, releases the highly anticipated The Lies We Tell, about a woman who awakes from a crash with amnesia, and discovers that every “truth” she is being told is actually a lie.
June 17th:
Looking to take a vacation in June? Well, so is the act of Murder, in the new release by Laura Lippman, Murder Takes a Vacation. This irresistible mystery features former private investigator and middle-aged widow Muriel Blossom, whose vacation takes a deadly turn.
Kristin Harmel, an exceptional author in the world of historical fiction, returns with a drama about a priceless bracelet linked to the disappearance of master thief Colette Marceau’s sister, resurfaces 70 years later. Read more about The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau.
June 24th
The #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong releases Writing Mr. Wrong on the last big Tuesday release day of June. In this romantic comedy, debut author Gemma Stanton’s steamy book based on her old crush goes viral, and a fake dating scheme with real-life bad boy Mason Moretti sparks a romance hotter than fiction.
It Happened On The Lake is going to be a fun one – this is a twisty Hitchcokian standalone spin on the famous novel Rear Window. Written by Lisa Jackson, Harper returns to her family’s island home to sell it, only to find that the past still lingers, the town still suspects her of the murder of her grandmother and the disappearance of her boyfriend, and someone may be watching her every move.
It’s a most anticipated Summer read on more lists than we can count; Don't Let Him In is the latest standalone thriller by the excellent Lisa Jewell.
If you are a fan of the Shadow series by James Patterson, then great news as the latest novel, The President's Shadow, is out on June 24th.
And last, but certainly not least, the wonderful Danielle Steel graces us with A Mother's Love.
These are just some of the many great new releases by the most popular authors on Book Notification. Here’s the complete list:
