We have over 50 debut authors releasing new books in March. Many are standalone, others are the beginning of a series, while some authors have written only non-fiction before, and are venturing into the fiction world.
We love to celebrate these debut authors for such an accomplishment, and we want to highlight seven debut books that we are particularly looking forward to.
The Book Tour by Emily Ohanjanians
Releasing March 3rd by Emily Ohanjanians, this is one where just the title and cover alone intrigue me. There’s something about books on a cover and in the title that just piques my interest.
A buzzy debut author gets stuck on tour with her grumpy, highbrow publicist, and their city-to-city tension turns into a career-risking, can’t-look-away romance.
The Pie & Mash Detective Agency by J.D. Brinkworth
J.D. Brinkworth is a debut author duo – Jo Dinkin and Catherine Brinkworth. Both have many writing credits from screenplays and TV shows, and this book sounds light-hearted and hilarious.
An out-of-their-depth millennial couple starts a “Pie and Mash Detective Agency” after one impulsive class, then stumbles into a decades-spanning mystery of five missing women……all named Nellie Thorne.
It releases March 10th.
The Fountain by Casey Scieszka
Releasing March 17th, this debut novel by Casey Scieszka is highly anticipated, with Booklist declaring it the perfect book for fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.
An immortal woman returns home after 188 years to undo the curse that made her family live forever, but a shady company and a familiar stranger force her into a race to uncover the truth before someone else claims it.
Sing the Night by Megan Jauregui Eccles
As a fan of The Phantom of the Opera, I’m excited for this one which was actually inspired by that.
It’s a Phantom-inspired gothic fantasy where a young singer-mage enters a deadly opera-house competition for the King’s Mage, only to bargain with a seductive man trapped in a mirror whose forbidden magic could cost her everything.
March 10th is the release date of this debut by Megan Jauregui Eccles.
The Beheading Game by Rebecca Lehmann
The cover alone got me. Absolutely love it. If you’re a fan of historical fiction, be sure to check this one out by Rebecca Lehmann. It releases March 24th.
Anne Boleyn wakes up after her beheading, stitches her head back on as you do, and storms across Tudor England on a furious, magical quest to kill Henry VIII and protect her daughter’s claim to the throne.
The Debtor's Game by Isabelle Mongeau
Love me some dystopia, and that’s what you are going to get in this dark fantasy novel by Isabelle Mongeau, which comes out on March 3rd.
In a fae kingdom where servitude is inked into skin, a palace servant gets trapped between a ruthless lady and a new king—and uncovers secrets that could ignite a rebellion strong enough to tear the whole system out by its roots.
The Hole-Man by Dan Daetz
The first book in The Shadower Saga series which won an Aurora Award, this is a gritty dystopian military sci-fi novel by Dan Daetz. The release date is March 3rd.
A disgraced pilot forced to feed rebels into a black hole meets a defiant captive who sparks his conscience, pushing him to choose between execution and uprising, and a last shot at redeeming his family and himself.
