On September 1st, 1974, the SR-71 Blackbird sets (and holds) the record for flying from New York to London in the time of one hour, 54 minutes, and 56.4 seconds at a speed of 1,435.587 miles per hour. It is a record that still stands to this day, but (thankfully) it did not become the standard travel time. After all, flights are great for reading! Whether you are taking a trip or staying home, here are today’s new book releases.
“Fatal Intrusion” is the first book in the Sanchez & Heron Series by New York Times bestselling author Jeffery Deaver and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Isabella Maldonado.
The debut novel sees a Homeland Security agent teaming up with Professor Jake Heron, a private security expert to investigate a series of murders across Southern California. The two have a troubled past, but he owes her and this is her time to cash in on that favor. The two will find themselves in a lethal chess match with the killer as they try, and stop him before he takes more innocent lives.
The Pride High Series by Jay Bell is a sex-positive LGBT series based on endearing friendships and endless love. It is intended for intended for mature teenagers and adults. The fourth book in the series is called “Green” and is being released today.
“The House of Lost Secrets” by Anstey Harris is a standalone novel based on female friendship. Rachel and Jo have been friends for years and the weatherworn cottage Clachan has been their sanctuary. However, this year turns out much different than the good memories of the past when it is revealed that Rachel has been keeping a secret. It’s a betrayal that hits Jo hard because it reminds her of a past she’s long tried to forget. Now, Jo must decide if forgiveness is possible for her long-time friend.
The Eleventh Hour Series by Tea Ravine kicks off with “The Eleventh Hour”. The dark romance series is a contemporary story with paranormal elements. It is the story of a woman who lives in a personal hell until two men come to her looking for answers that only she has. Readers should be warned that the book does contain many potential triggers.
