New Book Releases Today: October 25th, 2024

This year’s Frankenstein Day falls on October 25th. The last Friday in October is Frankenstein Day, a holiday created to celebrate Mary Shelley and her greatest creation. “Frankenstein” was conceived when the author was just 16 years old and is one of the first science fiction stories. Today is also a day to celebrate new books released by the authors below.

“A Crime in 5C” is the fourth book in the A Murder at the Morrisey Mystery Series by Eryn Scott. The cozy mystery series follows Meg and other residents of a downtown Seattle building as they navigate mysteries. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone.

This book takes place during the building’s annual scavenger hunt. Tensions run high with residents turned against each other. When apartment 5C is ransacked and a body is discovered, the scavenger hunt becomes much more serious. Meg and her neighbors will need to work together to find the truth.

The Bloodwing Academy Series by Briar Boleyn begins with “On Wings of Blood”. Medra Pendragon dies and awakens in an entirely different world where she is betrothed to a vampire. This is her second chance at life and to survive this world, she’ll need to learn to pay by its rules and that means going to a magical academy. This world is deadly, but Medra is prophesized to make it much worse by bringing on the return of dragons.

“A Lark’s Release” is the next book in the Verity Lark Mysteries Series by Lynn Messina. The regency cozy mystery series continues as Verity investigates a forged antiquities ring and a mystery close to home.

The Blueridge Bears series by Skye R. Richmond begins with “Home With Holden”. The MM Mpreg shifter romance follows Mylo as he seeks a new life after being cheated on by his alpha.
