The Dogs of War Series by Adrian Tchaikovsky continues with Bee Speaker. Earth quietly collapsed under storms, droughts, and petty wars. No grand ending—just slow, brutal decline. Humanity faded, not with a bang, but a whimper. Mars, however, endured. Bioengineered beings and outlawed AI called Bees survived by uniting. Cooperation meant survival. Then, one day, a signal reached them: “For the sake of what once was. We beg you. Help.” They couldn’t ignore it. A mission was launched—a hopeful return to Earth. Now, after traveling millions of kilometers, they’ve arrived. But Earth is not as they remembered. Something has gone terribly wrong. Their mission of hope may end in disaster.
