New Book Releases: May 5th to May 11th, 2025

It’s going to be a great week for new book releases, with over 360 new books releasing. No matter what authors or genres you are a fan of, there is bound to be something new to dig your teeth into.

Let’s have a look at 5 of the most notable books releasing this week in what is going to be a great week for book fans.

The fifth full-length novel in the Colter Shaw series by Jeffery Deaver releases on May 6th. For those unaware, this series was also adapted for TV and airs on CBS as Tracker. It’s a great show starring Justin Hartley.

This is a superb suspense thriller series, and we know South of Nowhere is on many users “Want To Read” lists.

When a levee fails in a small California town, Colter Shaw joins his sister to rescue a missing family before time runs out. But as strange attacks interrupt their search, they uncover a possible act of sabotage—and a race to stop a disaster turns deadly.

May 6th also sees the release of the latest psychological thriller by Freida McFadden. That’s all you need to know. She’s the most popular author on Book Notification, and we certainly don’t need to sell this book to you.

Speaking of standalone thrillers, Alex Finlay burst into the scene in 2021 with the incredible book “Every Last Fear”.

He’s followed it up with some great books such as “The Night Shift” and “If Something Happens To Me”, and his latest release comes out on Tuesday, titled Parents Weekend.

We also see the recurring character Sarah Keller. The FBI agent has appeared in a couple of other Finlay books, which is nice to see.

When five college freshmen vanish during Parents Weekend, their families are left reeling as panic spreads and suspicions grow. As the search intensifies, buried secrets surface, raising the question of whether the danger came from outside the group or from within.

The wonderful Carley Fortune has a new novel coming out this week, and it’s an Amazon Editors’ pick for Best Romance.

The name of Carley’s new standalone is One Golden Summer.
