New Book Releases: February 2nd to February 8th, 2026

Kia ora from one of the most beautiful countries on the planet!

Escaping the arctic tundra known as Canada in a January that has seen some serious “has it snowed this much since the 80s” vibes has been cathartic to say the least. And while I’ve been to windy Welly before, my previous trip was in October. Now, I’m here when it’s summer and I might have to make a winter escape on my yearly excursion.

So what now? Sunshine and a book of course. And with more than 400 new books this week, there’s plenty to choose from – whether you’re reading on the beach in New Zealand, or hunkered down from the cold. I’ll fill you in on 5 and Vince’ll feature another 10 on our BN podcast.

The Lost Language of Oysters by Alexander McCall Smith (Professor Dr. Von Igelfeld Series)

On February 3rd, award-winning author, Alexander McCall Smith, releases The Lost Language of Oysters – the latest installment of the Professor Dr. Von Igelfeld series! This is the North American release date. It released in the UK last Summer.
